The Dallas Data Center Market absorbed 39 MW of demand in 2015, and data center operators are working hard to deliver commissioned power and space to meet this year’s activity. If you’re looking for your next data center in Dallas, pay attention to the Top 4 Largest Data Centers coming to the market:

  • 1. Skybox Data Centers – Skybox recently broke ground on their new data center campus in Plano, with the first, 150,000 SF, 25 MW phase to be delivered in October of 2016. The campus is planned to have 350,000 SF and 60 MW of wholesale capacity in one or more facilities at full build-out. According to Rob Morris, managing partner at Skybox Datacenters, Texas offers untapped potential. “Skybox is excited about what might be possible here for large users, integrators and cloud providers that want to operate in one of the most populous states in the country while maintaining an extremely low and nationally competitive total cost of operations.”

  • 2. Stream Data Centers – In January, Stream announced their purchase of 16 acres in Plano’s Legacy Business Park. Construction will begin in Q2 this year on the 210,000 SF facility. Rob Kennedy, co-managing partner of Stream Data Centers, said “This facility will provide enterprise users with an attractive wholesale option in one of the area’s fastest growing markets.”

  • 3. RagingWire – In September of 2015, RagingWire purchased 42 acres of land in Garland, with plans to build up to a one million SF, 80 MW data center campus. RagingWire currently operates data centers in California and Virginia. They are under construction with their first data center building on the campus, which will give them a strong presence in the South and Central United States.

  • 4. Digital Realty – Digital Realty is continuing to expand at their Richardson campus. Construction has begun on their newest facility at 1210 Integrity Drive. The new data center will be Digital’s largest data center on the campus, with 36 MW of commissioned power at full build out. Digital has already pre-leased 4.5 MW of capacity at the facility.

Other data center operators currently active in Dallas: Aligned Data Centers, CenturyLink, CyrusOne, DataBank, Equinix, Infomart Data Centers, Internap, QTS, TierPoint, T5 Data Centers, Viawest, zColo
